Rough Diamond Management
These courses learn you how to sort a pile of rough diamonds into different categories according to various criteria such as size, colour, clarity and morphology. These courses focus on practice with a sound theoretical background. The new and extra module about Rough Diamond Management is the practical extension of the Introduction course.
Rough Diamond Management
The Rough Diamond Management course will introduce the business concepts required to acquire and trade rough diamonds. The various techniques of how to determine the value of rough will be explained further in depth. The characteristics of various types of rough will be discussed and how these specific elements effect the rough trading and manufacturing businesses. The various sources of rough will be considered and the specific properties will be highlighted. Certain types of rough bring with them advantages and some have issues that require a degree of caution when manufacturing.
These aspects will be discussed. There are many techniques that when applied correctly can significantly increase the value of the polished that can be produced from the various types of rough diamonds.
An additional 2 day module is available that goes into more detail on manufacturing (1.5 days) and how to start a new business in Belgium (0.5 day).
